Acadia Researcher Explores Genetics and Endangered Species in Wolfville Tonight

WOLFVILLE — Genetics, rare species and conservation are the focus of a free public science talk in Wolfville tonight.
The Blomidon Naturalists Society is hosting retired Acadia University professor Don Stewart for its monthly Nature Talk beginning at 7 p.m. at the Wolfville Legion.
Stewart will explain how researchers use molecular genetic tools to study rare and endangered species in Atlantic Canada and Costa Rica.
His research has included shrews and other mammals along with marine and freshwater mussels.
Stewart completed his undergraduate studies at Acadia in 1987 before earning his PhD at the University of Toronto and eventually returning to Acadia.
