Nova Scotia Budget Consultation Comes to New Minas Thursday

NEW MINAS — Annapolis Valley residents will get a chance this week to tell the province how they would build Nova Scotia’s next budget.
The provincial government’s Building Our Budget Together consultation comes to the Louis Millett Community Complex in New Minas at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, September 24.
Unlike a traditional town hall, participants will be given information about Nova Scotia’s finances and asked to make choices about spending priorities and trade-offs while building their own version of the 2027-28 provincial budget.
Residents who don’t attend can also build and submit a budget online.
An independent advisory committee will review feedback gathered through the process and publish a report before the next provincial budget is released.
The first in-person session is being held tonight in Springhill, with New Minas next on the schedule.
