Police Investigate Robbery at Halifax Sobeys

HALIFAX — Halifax Regional Police are investigating a robbery at a Sobeys on Mumford Road after an employee was allegedly assaulted.

Police say the incident happened at about 6:40 p.m. on September 4 at the Sobeys at 6990 Mumford Road. A man allegedly approached an employee at a checkout, assaulted the worker and stole an undisclosed amount of money.

Police were also told the suspect threatened security personnel with a hammer before leaving the area on a bicycle.

No physical injuries were reported. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect, and the investigation remains ongoing.
