Students across all grade levels can now participate in Nova Scotia’s school lunch program.
Nova Scotia’s school lunch program has expanded to include high-school students across the province. The expansion means students in every grade can access nutritious and affordable lunches during the school day.
Students in grades 3 through 6 will also begin learning under a new English-language arts curriculum. The province says it emphasizes foundational reading and writing skills and incorporates research associated with structured literacy and the science of reading.
New classroom materials are being provided to educators. Families seeking information about menus, registration, transportation or school schedules should contact their school, regional centre for education or the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial.
