The Town of Kentville is moving ahead with planning for stormwater improvements in one of the community’s higher-risk flood areas.
The town received $235,200 through Nova Scotia’s Sustainable Communities Challenge Fund. The money will support the design of infrastructure upgrades for the Crescent Avenue flood zone.
Two other Annapolis Valley organizations also received funding. The Margaretsville Shore Society was awarded $96,310 for coastal protection work, while the Canning and District Lions Club received $132,231 for a solar power system with battery backup.
The Canning project is intended to reduce energy costs and help the Canning Area Food Bank remain open during power outages.
